PlayStation Store Update: 28/01/15 – Dying Light, Grim Fandango & Life Is Strange

Its release might be as messy and nonsensical as dropping the ingredients for a cake on your kitchen floor and rolling around in it, but Dying Light is seeing its digital release on PS4 this week, with the physical release set for the end of February. Of course, as with most digital releases, the £54.99/€69.99 asking price may make you feel a little woozy… So try not to think about it while making a cake, or you might make a mess.

In lieu of a review – with code only coming out very shortly before launch – Bunimomike and I dove into the game and streamed some of it on TSA late yesterday afternoon. So if you’re curious to see what it’s about, check out the archived stream of our shenanigans.

Joining it on the store today is Grim Fandango Remastered, bringing the classic point & click adventure to modern machines with cross-buy for PS4 and PS Vita. For those who prefer a more modern style of adventure game, Friday sees the release of Dontnod’s Life Is Strange, coming to both PS4 and PS3 with options to buy just the first episode or pick up the whole season.

Finally, for this brief little collection of highlights, hitting the PS Vita is a rather tricky little platformer, Baboon!, which Tuffcub reviewed earlier today.

  1. Any news on Feb’s PS Plus content?

  2. I might try Grim Fandango, there seems to be a lot of fuss about it.

Also, Second Son for £15.99 seems good, although I should probably see if I like First Light first, since I already have that.

  3. £15.99 for InFamous Second Son is worth a punt

    • Absolutely stonking game for that money. Even at full price I never regretted its purchase.

  4. Grim fandango looks like it’s stood the test of time. Hope it’s as good as I rememeber

  5. Finally!! The Season 2 update for The Pinball Arcade is here. It took its time. :)

Now just give me a working import tool for Rocksmith into Rocksmith 2014 for my PS4, and I’ll be a very happy bunny indeed.

  6. Driveclub Sakura tour pack and the freebies for me. I see there’s a trial version of Life Is Strange for PS3 so i’ll check that out too.

  7. Where the hell is my dynamic PS4 Aquarium or Comet Theme Goddammit?! They’ve got loads now on the American PSN store.

  8. Can I say as someone that bought Magical Beat on the JPN store because I didn’t think it would ever get released over here, it is amazing for anyone liking puzzle games and vocaloid! Its mega hard as well :-)

Also – does Norway forbid Monopoly?!

  9. Slightly off topic, I noticed that ‘The Motorcycle Club’ PS4 on the US store is $29.99 which equates to roughly £19, yet on the EU/UK store it’s £55.
In which universe does that make any sense?
I might Ebay another US PSN card and indulge, the bollockheads in charge of UK store pricing must have just thrown a dart at price is right board!!

    • I think CDkeys.com also sell US PSN cards quite cheaply, so worth checking them out too.

As for the UK price, I think the publishers decide the price. Still doesn’t make £55 reasonable though.

    • I’ve got a few favourite sellers set up from previous purchases but I’ll check that one out as well ;)
So if publishers set the prices then they knowingly fleece ‘gullible Europeans’ shame on the arseholes!

  10. They’ve screwed up half the Driveclub DLC. The Sakura tour works. Seems a bit easier than some of the others too. But the Apex tour won’t let you enter any events. All the events need the new cars, but they’re showing up as not having been purchased.

Looks like it’s the store update that went wrong and not another problem with Driveclub itself.
