Compulsion Reveal We Happy Few With A Frying Pan To The Face

Compulsion Games, the team behind PS4 launch title Contrast, have revealed their next game, We Happy Few.

The title is set in “a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England” where the population seem to be popping pills to keep them in a permanently happy state and anyone who is not cheerful and compliant is dealt with severely.

I rather like the look of this game, it has a distinct “Bioshock” vibe as it is set in a environment where the population is controlled and everyone is forced to smile even though there is an underlying sense of things being terribly wrong. The painted faces are super creepy as well!

At present we have no information on platforms are release date but as Contrast came to PS4 we can hope We Happy Few does as well.

  1. Looks interesting.
I think we should adopt the same policy in my office. Looks like I’ll be heading to Tesco at lunchtime to purchase a frying pan.

    • Can you grab me some horse burgers while you’re there? Haven’t had any in weeks and I’m feeling the naaayy-eeed for one.

      • No problem. I’ll actually get to try the frying pan out before it gets used as my sad slap stick!

  2. You’ve just reminded me that I recently bought Bioshock DLC, which I haven’t played yet, that I still got to play Contrast, and that I always wanted to revisit Fallout 3…
So many things to do, but the Alien got me firmly in it’s grips and doesn’t let me (I just can’t stop playing Alien: Isolation, now the DLCs…).

    The game looks interesting, though.

  3. Creepy stuff, that trailer

  4. Looks quite good, will be keeping an eye out for this.

  5. Reminds me a lot of a 60’s tv show, The Prisoner. Contrast wasn’t a bad little game but i think this looks even more promising.

  6. This trailer got me interested in it, I’ve always loved this fantasy of happy-creepy-people.
