Destiny Update To Add Options For Colour Blind Players

The next update for Destiny will add a new mode which will help players who have difficulty seeing certain colours.

Bungie have revealed that players with different classifications of colour-blindness will be able to adjust the HUD, visuals and user interface to suit them.

“We don’t all see the world the same way,” posted Bungie. “This isn’t some existential statement. Some of our eyes literally see colour differently. In Update 1.1.2, we’ll be making the visual feedback that guides you through the world of Destiny relevant to more players.”

“Colour plays an important role in Destiny. The colour of enemy shields, the size and brightness of engram drops and the radar blips on the motion tracker have all been adjusted for affected players in the new update.”

“Destiny relies on colour to communicate some pretty important information to the player, particularly in the user interface. You may not have trouble distinguishing the red blips on the motion tracker from the red surface of Mars, for example, but chances are you know someone who does.”

There will also be audio updates to the game, including the ability to mute the in-game music as well as adjust the volume of chat and the in-game audio.

Bungie have yet to release a date for when the update will be available.

  1. I can’t believe in this day and age this kind of thing isn’t included from day one.

    • I am with you on this one. Killzone on the PS4 was almost unplayable for me at first, thankfully that patched that quite quickly.

  2. This is good news – I personally know of one or two people that will be happy with this update.

No more confusion over what is a rare & what is a legendary engram. No more confusion between void & arc (both shields & weapon types).

Looking to be a good update actually, considering they are supposed to be boosting vault space too.

    • Yaaaaay :) although i kind of like the mystery of-is it a legendary engram is it it! No it isn’t ;)

      • So you enjoy the disappointment? I hear there are ladies that offer services along those lines. ;)

      • ;D

      • Forrest – Aye, they’re called long-term relationships.
