Cities: Skylines Sells Over One Million Units

Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order, the teams behind the new city-building game that has been taking the genre by storm, have announced today that Cities: Skylines has officially sold over one million units.

Cities: Skylines launched on March 10th, and since then it has been receiving almost nothing but high praise for bringing fresh fun to the relatively dormant city-building genre. Since launch, over 33,000 mods have been created and made available on Steam Workshop, and that level of engagement is also shown by having a reported average of 21,000 concurrent users playing online.

“We continue to be amazed at just how players have embraced Cities: Skylines,” CEO of Paradox Interactive Fredrik Wester said. “The game is still selling at a steady pace, which is remarkable for a game that has been on sale for well over a month. Once again, we want to thank everyone that has supported and continues to support this game.”

  1. The game is amazing. I hust hope they can keep it alive for many years to come :)

  2. I held off getting this as I was trying to decide between this and Cities XXL, but from what I’ve heard Skylines blows it out the water. I’ll have to get it at some point, and I’ve already seen it for just over a tenner.

P.S: Are you a new writer on TSA? Haven’t seen your name before, but apologies if you’ve been here a while!

  3. Well deserved, the game’s great.
