PS4 Exclusive What Remains Of Edith Finch Gets A New Trailer And Screens

Giant Sparrow, the team behind The Unfinished Swan, revealed What Remains Of Edith Finch at Sony’s PSX event last December but have been rather quiet since then. They have now revealed the game will be at E3 where the first story will be playable.

“It’s hard to sum up the game in a screenshot because the game is a collection of short stories,” say they developers. “Each of those stories is about the death of a different Finch family member and each is meant to look and feel different from the others, the way no two people in any family are alike.”

They describe the game as “a surreal experience that’s grounded in a familiar world,” and that “the house is the story of the family as a whole, told through architecture.”

I think we’re going to have invent a new genre name soon for all the “spooky but natural setting with troubled individuals” type games that are landing on consoles, we have Edith, plus Everyone’s Gone to Rapture, White Night, and Perception (the new one from ex Bioshockers) off the top of my head. Sadly, the PS4 version of Gone Home has been cancelled.

  1. Fascinating trailer, TC. Hope there’s a lovely game to back it up. :-)

  2. I’ve only just played The Unfinished Swan and loved every bit of it. So i’m very excited that they are making something else.
