Supermassive’s teen horror game has been on my radar for what feels like forever, but after reemerging last year as a PlayStation 4 title – it was originally set for PS3 with move controls – it’s now penned in for release on August 26th in the EU and 28th in the UK and Ireland.
Until Dawn drops eight teens into a cut off and remote mountainside on an ominously dark and snowy night, as they are hunted down one by one by a man in a clown mask. Their fate is entirely in your hands, with a branching narrative that uses the image of a butterfly to represent how your various decisions and how you perform during the tense action sequences unfold. For more on the game, check out our preview from the PlayStation Experience demo at the end of last year.
The release date news comes alongside the above new trailer, as well as the reveal of a new cast member, as Peter Stormare (Arrow, Prison Break, The Big Lebowski) joins a list that’s headlined by Hayden Panettiere. There’s also an exclusive scene for those who preorder one of the game’s three editions.

What are the 3 editions Tef, please?
I don’t think this has had that much attention to be honest, perhaps we’ll see a big marketing campaign between now and release. I quite fancy it as it might be something the wife plays too, and it’s different to most other games – and there have been a lack of decent horrors until more recently so I’m enjoying the genre again!
