Woohoo! Bethesda Counts Down To A Fallout Announcement Tomorrow

After a billion and one fake sites and false rumours we have, at last, the first signs that something big and Fallout shaped will be announced soon, and by soon we mean “tomorrow”.

For those not in the know, that image is taken from the Fallout series. There is also a countdown site which has less than twenty-four hours to go, and will expire at 3pm BST tomorrow.

Of course the game might not be called Fallout 4, and if current trends are anything to go by it may be a series reboot. But hey, Fallout! At last! Woohoo!

UPDATE: The source code for the site contains the following text.

PA system failure has occured.
Shutdown of the Masterbrain has been authorized and all sensitive materials have been removed for security purposes.
Please attempt re-access. Have a pleasant day.

Masterbrain appears in Fallout 3 and controls the security systems in the Vault-Tec headquarters.

  1. I enjoyed Fallout 3 but never warmed to New Vegas. Still interested in seeing how the next chapter turns out though.

    • Same here. Fallout 3 felt like it had a lot of character and very memorable missions. New Vegas just didn’t quite have the same feel. Sometimes think they had too many branches going on with the factions, just didn’t work as well.

      • Yeah, New Vegas didn’t really tickle my pickle either. Played Fallout 3 to death (hundreds of hours), so New Vegas seemed like a no-brainer, but when I started playing it something didn’t feel quite right. As a result, I lost interest & moved onto other things, which I have to admit bugged me somewhat as I loved Fallout 3.

It continued to bug me, so I decided to give it another go after quite some time had passed – This time was better & I did get into it more, but then one of the factions (NCR) decided that they didn’t like me anymore for no bloody reason & became instantly hostile to me whenever I entered their compound. So I could never turn in the quest that I had just finished for them. That was the last straw for me & I haven’t played it since.

Overall though, I think it was just far too samey as Fallout 3 (which would explain why I didn’t get into it from the off & was better when I returned to it), whilst at the same time just generally being a touch on the dull side in environment, mission structure, npc’s etc.

  2. Got Fallout 3 and New Vegas but never got into them. Think they just seemed too daunting, too big, too complicated. Will deffo give this a go though.

  3. Personally, after the skyrim debacle and elder scrolls online and the sheer arrogance of Bethesda towards PlayStation users, I’ll be picking up my copy second hand at a real cheap price when you guys start selling your copies due to the major bugs that have become synonymous with the name Bethesda. At least you won’t have any dragons flying backwards in fallout 4… Hopefully.

    • Just been to the countdown link… and it froze after thirty seconds. A sign of things to come maybe?
