[UPDATE: Now Removed] The PS+ Version Of Driveclub Has Been Released In The USA

It appears that the PlayStation Plus version of Driveclub has been sneaked out in the United States and PlayStation 4 owners can download it right now.

Eight months after the disastrous launch of the full game Sony and Evolution have finally got round to fulfilling their promise and releasing the free version for those with PlayStation Plus. This version includes 13 tracks based in India, 15 cars in your garage and 27 trophies.

The game can be upgraded to the full version if you so wish, and we will keep an eye out for the European version and let you know when that is available. Hopefully that will be in the EU store update tomorrow.

However, if you are in the U.S., this is the link you need. Let’s hope the servers will support the sudden influx of eager racers.

UPDATE: Oh dear, it’s been pulled from the store. Back to waiting I guess.

UPDATE #2: The following has been posted on the Driveclub Facebook page.

We’re preparing to launch DRIVECLUB PS+ Edition & will have news for you soon.

The Store update today with the DRIVECLUB PS+ Edition was premature. The servers aren’t ready yet, so it’s been removed while we get them ready. Apologies on their behalf for any confusion and inconvenience caused.

  1. Holy moly

  2. *Re-released :) It was actually available for about a day in the U.S before it got pulled.

I don’t know if we’ll get it tomorrow, perhaps they’ll take it steady after what happened at launch, but still should be soon!

  3. It’s very odd they didn’t announce it with some sort of fanfare, it’s almost as if they don’t want a sudden rush of players trying to get online…

  4. I played some driveclub at around that time and got the dreaded “connection lost”, so I guess their servers aren’t ready.

  5. Double holy moly

  6. I wouldn’t imagine that there’d be too much worry regarding server issues, most people interested in the game will have purchased the full game version by now and ventured into the dark side online at it’s knock down price. I don’t think that the big plus demo will have too many takers.
