Capcom has announced the first set of details for Monster Hunter Stories, the next Monster Hunter title that will be releasing on 3DS. The game will feature a turn based battle system and will have Power, Technique, and Speed move options, with different monsters being weak to certain tactics. Observing a monster before fighting it will be the main way to work out which tactic will be the most successful.
The story begins in Rider Village where the main character, either male or female, has trained to become a Rider. From here you can go out into the wider world and hunt monsters in areas like deserts, ice caverns, and forests. As well as hunting monsters you can find eggs and bring them back to the village. Here the eggs will hatch and you’ll be able to form bonds with the creatures that hatch, with the type of creature dependant on where you find the egg.
Monster Hunter Stories is expected to release in Japan in 2016, with a western release yet to be confirmed.
