Here Is What 1666: Amsterdam Looked Like

Short version of a long story: The chap who made the first Assassin’s Creed game, Patrice Désilets, left Ubisoft and moved to THQ where he started work on  1666: Amsterdam. THQ went tits up and Ubisoft bought a load of games including 1666, which they quickly cancelled. Cue a long legal battle over who owns what, ending with Patrice finally regaining ownership of 1666.

He has now shown what the game looked like and you can see why Ubisoft were rather quick to cancel the project, it’s very Assassin’s Creed. It’s also rather Dishonored as in the game you played as a devil like character with the ability to control animals.

The footage is from a build that was destined for PS3 and Xbox 360 so doesn’t look all the good by today’s standards. The game is unlikely to be finished as Désilets is now working on Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

  1. Very similar to A.C. and Dishonored alright, but even with those graphics it looked promising.
