Blue Beetle Confirmed For Injustice 2

At San Diego Comic Con a panel has been held for Injustice 2, which was revealed just over a month ago with quite a decent trailer. In it the roster was partly confirmed which included Batman, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Supergirl all appearing. Wonder Woman, Gorilla Grodd, and Black Manta are also confirmed for the game as well. The latest new addition is Blue Beetle.

The Blue Beetle’s source of power is the Blue Beetle Scarab, and the power has been wielded by a number of individuals. Dan Garret was the first to adopt the moniker, followed by Ted Kord, and now Jamie Reyes holds the mantle. Ed Boon gave a little morsel of story relating to Supergirl. She arrived on Earth in between the events of the two games, and is seen as a pivotal character for both sides of the conflict that has erupted.

  1. Is this the Ant-Man of DC Universe? I’ve never heard of him, but it’s nice to see some more obscure choices along the mainstays.

    • he’s more of a power ranger type, he has this alien scarab thing that gives him the suit with all the powers.

i don’t think he really has any connection to earth insects other than the name.

i’m not up on what his powers are, the last time i read comic regularly that featured a Blue Beetle, it was Ted Kord, he had no powers, he was a tech based hero.

the closest to Ant Man in the DCU has to be The Atom, AKA Ray Palmer, he does the shrinking thing, no connection to insects there either.
if you’ve watched the Arrowverse tv shows, you might be familiar with Palmer, especially Legends Of Tomorrow, he’s one of the leads there rather than a guest.

man, i miss Kris talking about comics on the podcast.

    • No Ant-man is a copy of Atom. Also The blue bettor has been around way longer than ant-man but was owned by another company that ain’t DC till DC took him in the 80’s
