Pokémon Sun & Moon Starter Evolutions Unveiled

With the success of Pokémon Go, Nintendo is keen to push the popularity of the Pokémon franchise and we’ve learned so much about the upcoming Pokémon Sun and Moon games recently including how the game will be different to other games in terms of objectives but will offer players more option for exploring and character customisation.

The latest update the Pokémon Company has unveiled is the evolutions of the starting Pokémon in Pokémon Sun and Moon. If you were stuck on which to choose, seeing these Pokémon’s next stages may sway your decision.

The grass-type Pokémon Rowlett will evolve into Dartrix, the fire-type Pokémon Litten will evolve into Torracat and the water type Popplio, will evolve into Bionne.

These names do seem a little strange, as generally names of evolution follow a pattern of prefixes or suffixes such as, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur and Venusaur or Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard.

This trailer does reveal other items and Pokémon that may strike a Pokéfan’s interest, but Ash-Greninja from the Pokémon anime will be available in the demo and transferable to the full game. We now know that mega-evolution will be returning, but what we don’t know is if there are any additions to what Pokémon will be able to do this.

For the most part, the animation for the new Pokémon look nice but we’ll learn more about the game and its Pokémon once the demo for Pokémon Sun and Moon version is released on October 18th.
