Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Coming To Switch On April 28th

Oddly not a part of the presentation live, but tucked into a montage briefly and then announced via a press release, Mario Kart is coming to Nintendo Switch with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Sadly, it’s not there for the console launch, but coming later on 28th April, priced at £49.99.

This will bundle up the main Wii U game with all the DLC tracks and characters as well as new characters Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl, King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr.! Plus.

Those disappointed by the lack of a traditional Battle Mode in MK8 will be overjoyed to see the return of Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast, with new courses like Urchin Underpass and Battle Stadium joining classics like like Luigi’s Mansion from Gamecube and Battle Course 1 from the SNES.

Players will now be able to carry two items at once, as they used to be able to in some previous Mario Kart games, and there’s new ones like an item-stealing Boo and a feather that lets you jump higher.

This will all run at 1080p with the console in TV mode.
