Hello Games Announces The Path Finder Update For No Man's Sky

New vehicle incoming.

No Man’s Sky developer is trying to do a lot to bring the game up to the vision that players thought they would be receiving at launch, and that started with the Foundation update that allowed base building. Now Hello Games has revealed the next part of the journey by announcing the Path Finder update. The main thrust of this is a new vehicle that will help in exploring home planets.

More detailed notes will be revealed closer to the time. Hello Games also released a short statement about what has been happening since Foundation landed.

Shortly after we launched the Foundation Update, we released a number of patches to address issues reported by players before beginning work on the Path Finder update. We were surprised and excited by the response to Foundation, and we have been listening carefully to community feedback since then.

To those of you who have spent time sharing feedback, whether positive or negative, we are listening.

This is the next step in our journey. It shows the path forward. We hope you’ll join us.

Sounds like it’s going to be another good update. It definitely needs a vehicle to explore the planets, hopefully with plenty of storage space.

5GB of update? And that’s probably mostly taken up by that 50% more music.

Which is a good thing, because the music is kind of great. (Although it must be pointed out that dodgy goths waiting in a queue at Wembley Arena to see The Cure aren’t that impressed by the fact that 65dos did the music instead of supporting The Cure and remixing their stuff again)

They did some Cure remixes? I did not know that but as a Cure fan i find the connection pleasing. Need to look those remixes up.
I’m still sitting here, trying to take in everything i just read in the patch notes. I might as well forget about picking up Horizon Zero Dawn anytime soon. :)

They remixed 1 of the singles from 4:13 Dream (which got hidden away as an itunes exclusive), along with a 20something minute mix of all 4 singles. The Hypnagogic States EP, with Exploding Head Syndrome being the 4 songs in one.

It’s available on Spotify, and presumably less official methods. A lovely mix of 65dos (you’ll probably recognise the piano bits as being their style) and definitely The Cure as well. Go and hunt it down now! (Obviously, I just played it myself, and I’d forgotten how good it is, especially the Freakshow section)
