Sure, it’s dead exciting that Everybody’s Golf is coming out on 29th August in America and 30th August in Europe, but the real news story is that Sony are finally retiring the Hot Shots branding in the US. That said, it’s apparently “the latest chapter” in the series, which implies that there’s some overarching story or continuity to be aware of.
All of this at a time when the series is actually breaking out from the rigours of being a pure golf game. There’s still more than a little golfing action to dig into, with the game’s classic three-click shooting, but there’s now tons of other activities like fishing, buggy racing and treasure hunting in an open world environment. All of this can be explored in a much wider reaching multiplayer.
If you’re incredibly eager to play the game, there will be a closed online test running from 26th May to 28th May, with emails heading out to eligible PS4 owners some time soon. How you can actually sign up for it is Everybody’s Guess, though.
