Sonic Forces' Main Theme Is Called 'Fist Bump', But The Song's Not Terrible

P.S. - go fst

Sega have released a short snippet from the main theme song from Sonic Forces, and I can’t quite tell if this is good or not. I mean, it’s pretty catchy, it’s very up tempo, the lyrics are rather fun, and having Douglas Robb of Hoobastank fame takes me back to the mid-2000s of rock with a J-pop inflection… but then they decided to call the song ‘Fist Bump’.

Just listening to the lyrics, I can think of half a dozen far better lines that could have leant their name to the song instead. ‘Can’t Do This Alone’, ‘No Looking Back’, ‘On The Attack’, ‘Full Speed Ahead’, ‘Run Into The Sunset’, ‘Show The World’. Take your pick Sega, just not ‘Fist Bump’.

Sonic Forces is out for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC towards the end of this year. We played the game recently and shared our thoughts on its attempt to revitalise the series.

That song is awful. And that comes from a guy that liked Hoobastank…. OK I liked one song but still, this is quite painful.

Hell no. But i felt that ‘Fist Bump’ consumately encapsulated the spirit of the lyrics. :P
