There’s a distinctly fast and furious flavour to this year’s new Need for Speed game, but as you pull audacious heists and jobs as you fight, you might stumble across derelict vehicles that are the exhibit the game’s extensive customisation system at its best. It’s this that is being shown off in a new trailer for the game.
You’ll be able to discover classic vintage vehicles in the game and then take them from piles of scrap up to a fully restored stock configuration and then even further to be able to challenge the other supercars in the game. Of course, that customisation extends to other vehicles, letting you adapt the look of your cars and boost performance. For more on this, you can visit the Need for Speed Payback Customisation site.
Pre-ordering the game, incidentally, will get you access to five cars – the Nissan 350Z 2008, Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967, Dodge Charger R/T 1969, Ford F-150 Raptor 2016, Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016 – and an exclusive blue underglow and tire smoke vanity item. In case you need to compensate for something digitally.

This looks good – customisation of the 2016 reboot but with the better “map” like Most Wanted.
I still don’t think it’ll beat Underground 2 though. What I miss about that – and particularly the last few Gran Turismos – is that you’re forced to start on a budget and only be able to afford a fairly standard road car. You were then stuck with the dilemma of whether to stick with the first motor you’ve made your own, or ditch it for a better, but standard car. Some pre-order nonsense has also messed with that scenario too.

Have you seen what the pre-order bonus is?
A bloody tyre smoke…. no joke!

Yeah, shite that mate!

Cannot wait for this to come out and it better have bigger garage as I’d like to store 20 cars with my own customisations.
I really want that Dodge Charger R/T 1969

Looks good, but I wonder where they got the idea of searching for cars to collect – The Crew maybe?
