For Honor Season 3 Starts On 15th August

Grudge & Glory.

We won’t see the fruits of last week’s server architecture shift announcement for quite some time, as Ubisoft work to reengineer the weakest link for this online battler, but there’s plenty still to be done in the mean time. Today’s announcement sees Ubisoft unveil Season 3, dubbed ‘Grudge & Glory, which is set to start on 15th August.

Two new characters  will be introduced, the Highlander for the Vikings and the Gladiator for the Knights, described as follows:

  • Highlander (Viking Hybrid) – Highlanders are patient heroes capable of switching between two different fighting forms. Their defensive form allows for counter-attacking and trading blows, while their offensive form empowers them to unleash their deadliest attacks at the expense of being able to block. Wielding the heaviest and longest sword in the game, the Highlander’s massive claymore gives them a deadly combination of strength and range.
  • Gladiator (Knight Assassin) – Wielding a trident and shield, Gladiators have made a living off of killing for sport, and now bring their ruthlessness and skill to war. Equipped with little armour, they can punch their opponents to create separation to set up attacks and stuns. Their larger stamina meter and reduced cool down times make them extremely agile and dangerous opponents.

There will also be two new battlefields, Sentinel and Viking Village, both of  which feature environmental hazards, while new forms of competitive play are being introduced, with 1v1 duel tournaments with exclusive tournament rewards. This will expand to 4v4 ranked play later this year.

Continuing to grow your characters, you’ll be able to earn gear in the new ‘legendary’ rarity tier, while heroes can now be levelled up to a maximum reputation of 40.

As with every season in the game, those with a season pass will be able to play with them straight away on 15th August, and will get them for free. Meanwhile, everyone else will have to wait until the 22nd, at which point you’ll be able to unlock them for 15,000 Steel, which can be earned through play or bought through  microtransactions.
