Codemasters Working To Fix 'DSQ' Issue In F1 2017 Multiplayer

Codemasters are getting a horrible reputation for releasing games with somewhat broken multiplayer, with F1 2017 the latest game to be plagued with strange issues. Thankfully, Codemasters are confident that they’ve discovered the issue and will release a fix soon.

The online multiplayer itself seems to be steady enough, but come the end of a session, all players seem to be crossing the finish line and are then immediately disqualified. This in turn disrupts the final standings, which is a point that’s eerily similar to the connectivity issues that disrupted F1 2015.

Codemasters have released a test patch for PC – more details on how to access this here, if you wish to test it – and once they’re sure that the issue has been resolved, will submit a patch to Sony and Microsoft for certification and release on console.

Reading the Codemasters forums, an interesting workaround was spotted, and something that I’ve discovered first hand. It seems that if players join a lobby when players are on track, then this disrupts the game so that all players are disqualified.

It’s important to note that this issue was not present prior to release, neither during beta testing, as confirmed to us by a TSA community member, nor during our review period. However, given the nature of how and why the bug is triggered, it’s something that may have only manifest when players are regularly joining and leaving lobbies after release.

Either way, it’s a shame that an issue such as this is disrupting an otherwise great game. Fingers crossed those patches come out sooner rather than later.

Ah, this makes sense now, thank you.

Yeah multiplayer is really unplayable at the moment. Only managed to complete about 4 bug free races, especially annoying when you get a DSQ after you’ve won the race. My stats have completely messed up too, says I’ve raced nearly 1,000 starts already!

So I’ve heard that beta testers had come across this bug and had warned people – but its only heresay. It’s a shame as the actual races are great – but as Dan says, its pointless. I’m not even doing it until its fixed.
