What We Played #324 – Monster Hunter World, Destiny 2 & Damage Control

Not recommended.

So we’ve had a fun end to the week. While I got to head into Middle-earth: Shadow of War a few days ago, made a little progress with Mario + Rabbids when I wasn’t trying to sleep my way through flights, and get my obligatory time in with Destiny 2, the last 24 hours have been spent playing a game called Damage Control in which there’s lots of hand-wringing, phone calls, defending your position to everyone and not having much fun. I’d rate it a 3/10.

Tuffcub’s also been flying, but much, much further than I have because he’s on holiday.

I am currently playing Jet Lag. I don’t seem be progressing very quickly with the game and have to keep on buying coffee microtransactions. I give it 3/10.

That said, I’m sure the rest of the holiday’s actually very worth it. Wouldn’t mind one myself.

Aran’s another who could probably do with a holiday. He’s reviewed NBA 2K18, you might have noticed, but he’s also working on FIFA 18 and is trying to get raid ready for Destiny 2 as soon as possible.

Then there’s the EGX contingent of Dom and Kris. Kris shouted, “I HAVE PLAYED A LOT OF GAMES AT EGX. I AM THERE NOW, WRITING NOTES.” While Dom’s standout game is Monster Hunter World, which he says is still “Monster Hunter, and it looks and plays fantastically.” He also rather liked Yoku’s Island Express.

Jim’s mainly been beavering away at Total War: Warhammer II review this week, which has grabbed him much more than the original, and also dipping into Final Fantasy VII and Hidden Dragon on PS4. There’s been plenty of over the top Japanese games for Miguel, as per usual, with Danganronpa V3 reviewed, Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash submitted for next week, Blue Reflection and Fire Emblem Heroes.

Last but not least we have Jake who took a step back from Destiny 2 and played Pokkén Tournament on Switch and Pokémon Gold & Silver on 3DS, while Steve reviewed Figment, has been enjoying Monster Hunter Stories and regretting the decision to play The Evil Within on Xbox 360, purely for the rest mode that would let him get playing more quickly.

Now it’s over to you to tell us what you’ve been playing this past week?

Some more Elite Dangerous, but as I’d give my state of sleep deprivation a rating of 3/10, I had to catch up with that this week.

Still, I managed to knock my first pirates out of the sky (or space), realising they’re much easier to fight than the advanced combat training mission made me belive.

Oh, and I think you’ve handled this little NBA 2K crisis very well, signaled openness to discussion but still stood your ground, well done..! :o)

Lot’s of F1 2017. Fair play to Codemasters too, bringing out new patches quite regularly and as a result the game is working perfectly now.

Need to get back into Lost Legacy and finish Until Dawn as well.

Their support for the game post-launch has been superb. Miles ahead of where they were years ago.

Uncharted Lost Legacy – very good… Way better than Uncharted 4. It reminded me more of uncharted 1 & 2. Didn’t think too much of it at first, but once you get past the annoying open world jeep chapter (4 or 5), the game suddenly takes off. It once again has stunning scenery & giant statues to climb around with a mystic feel, unlike uncharted 4 which apart from looking spectacular, the locations were just dull.
