Street Fighter V was announced and proposed by Capcom as a step away from the previous practice of releasing endless standalone revisions of the same game, but recent rumours might have suggested they were packing that in. Thankfully, though Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is a major new iteration of the fighting game and will see a new retail and digital release, it will also be a free update for existing owners.
Coming out on 16th January 2018 for PlayStation 4 and PC, Arcade Edition will include:
- Arcade Mode
- Extra Battle Mode
- New V-trigger moves
- Gallery
- New User Interface
- Season 1 DLC characters – not free for current owners
- Season 2 DLC characters – not free for current owners
All characters will have new additional V-trigger moves in the game, as the most notable shift in the core fighting game.  The Arcade Mode lets you play through six different paths and fight against CPU opponents to unlock different endings, while Extra Battle mode is a new series of weekly challenges, with a premium costume as a reward for completing all four in a month
