Sonic Forces Gets Two New Gameplay Trailers

With the well-received Sonic Mania still being enjoyed by the masses, Sonic Forces will be the second Sonic game to dash to PC and consoles on November 7th, and the blue hedgehog’s YouTube is not being shy of giving us updates. This time the channel showed off videos for the infinite boss battle and new Space Port level gameplay.

The footage below reveals the Infinite boss battle in action and shows off Infinite’s swift hover attacks and how shooting red cubes creates numerous obstacles for players to try and overcome during this phase.

While the boss battle has some interesting mechanics, the level structure for the more side-scrolling levels is quite interesting. In this video, you’ll see the Bird Hero character utilizing a new Drill Wispon ability, as they travel through Dr. Eggman’s Space Port:

In addition to these gameplay videos, we know that the game will feature a new free “Rental Avatar” mode which allows players to access Hero Characters built by players around the world. Player’s will also be able to switch between their own characters and the rental avatar at any point during any level to overcome potential obstacles and to find alternate routes cross various levels.

Sonic Forces launches on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch on November 7th and is shaping up to be an amalgamation of this things we like about Sonic’s 3D adventures. However, if there’s one thing we know about 3D Sonic games, it’s that they haven’t been great in quite some time. Is it too little too late for Sonic’s 3D resurgence? Let us know in the comments.
