A pleasant surprise announcement from Gamescom, Biomutant is a game blending a post-apocalyptic open world with action RPG gameplay and animals with increasingly powerful mutations and bionic prosthetics. THQ Nordic were previously just the publishers, but have now announced that they are acquiring Experiment 101, the developers behind the game.
The mutation and character customisation at the heart of the game allow you to grow claws or wings, attach a robotic leg and more, with every choice affecting how they work in combat. Additionally, the open world with grow and evolve based on your actions in either trying to save it or allow it to descend further into chaos, with various shades of grey in between.
Biomutant is currently expected for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2018.
