Microsoft May Be Preparing To Enhance Achievements With A New Career Feature

It may have loot boxes.

According to Windows Central Microsoft may be getting ready to overhaul the Achievements system on the Xbox One with a new feature called Career. This Career mode will likely tie to users’ gamerscores as well as the activities they partake in while on Xbox services. This will include gaining experience points for completing certain actions like playing games, and this in turn will allow players to level up.

Another thing this Career system may have is loot boxes that will contain cosmetic items for characters. At the moment there is no evidence that real money can be exchanged for these boxes, with the current understanding being that the boxes will be earned through completing actions and levelling up. At the moment Microsoft is yet to comment on the issue.

So this is basically another set of achievements, but rather than just tied to one game, they’re system wide and can be achieved in whatever game?
