A Second Metal Gear Survive Beta Is Running Next Week On PS4, XBO & PC

Didn’t get in on the Metal Gear Survive open beta a few weeks ago? Want to explore the zombie defence co-op a bit more? Well luckily you can get another little taste just before the game’s release on 20th February, as Konami are holding a second beta test from 16th to 18th February.

Just as the first time round, the beta will feature three missions across two maps, all of which is meant to be played in co-op. The one real difference is that PC players will now be able to join in the fun in addition to PS4 and Xbox One players.

Those who do take part will be able to earn themselves a few goodies for the final game, with a FOX HOUND name plate, a Metal Gear REX head and a bandana.

One thing the beta doesn’t do very well is tell you how to actually play. If you’re feeling a bit lost, catch our tips and tricks guide to get a bit of a leg up on how to survive, and if you really can’t be bothered to play, here’s a nice, short preview video for you to enjoy instead:

  1. I was going to play this but got into MGSV instead. Is it true that they have pretty much just taken PP locations and jumbled them up? From what I read, it feels almost more like an add on than a new game.

    • Yeah, they’ve leant on the work done for MGSV, but it’s transformative. The gameplay loop is very different, there’s a new story built in there, there’s this co-op mode… oh, and it’s a budget release that costs £25 instead of £55.

You should give it a go and make up your mind then. That’s what the betas are for, really.

      • I should but I am so engrossed in MGSV, I don’t think I will remember to try it!
