Anyone having trouble getting online? the thing that tells me its searching for the matchmaking server and updating the ranks should only take about 2 seconds, mines been going continuously for 15 mins and I'm still getting nowhere. I'm on firmware 3.01 if that might make any difference

I've not tried online yet. But I've completed 5 levels of Veteran so far and not one single trophy has popped up. I should have about 2 ro 3 I believe? I hope these are going to appear once whatever is happening is sorted out. I hate it when things don't work when you've just spent money on them.

Okay, I've found out whats going on. Anybody who is going for Veteran trophies straight away needs to read this!
The patch 1.01 that is downloaded when you turn the game on has a glitch that stops the trophies from being unlocked. If you have already done a few levels on Veteran you will need to delete the save data from your console, and play offline until a new update is released. Infinity Ward are aware of the issue and have already fixed it, it just hasn't been released yet. Apparently. So, those 5 levels I've just done are a waste of time. 
Stupid fucking game.
So you have a choice… Play offline and unlock trophies. Or play online and unlock nowt.
Maybe this should be on the front page?

Probably but I still cant figure out my online problem, ive reconnected my net, delted every bit of MW2 data on my HDD and still nothing, FFS!

Apparently it's a glitch with the 1.01 patch and IW say they're working on it!

I was playing online earlier with around eight players and had no problems at all but then decided to do some spec ops with a friend and the lag was feckin abominable, worse than three players online in LBP. Anyone else having this problem? I hope that they bring a new patch out to fix this.

Yeah Spec Ops was really SLOW and I don't think there is much hope in getting 69 stars solo, plus has anyone managed to get under 30 secs in the pit in S.S.D.D? if so how? It's rock solid!! lol

You honestly haven't a hope in hell of getting Spec-Ops solo to 69 stars. They throw so much crap at you and it's just you on your larry, so you've got no chance. Local co-op works really quite well though, since you can see the other person's screen (useful for the air support level) and you can talk to each other face to face. I've done a few of them like that.
I got the 30 seconds in the pit last night. I say to stick with the M4 with the fore grip and just get used to doing that. Learn where the enemies are and do them in a particular order. If you can, get a double kill with a single bullet for extra accuracy, snap to the targets with the auto aim, and reload on the way up the stairs. Just keep doing it over and over and you'll get it eventually.
I got a few heart breaking 30.1 and 30.05 second attempts before finally cracking it.

Well done dude and totally agree spec ops is near impossible alone but have not tried yet since 1.04 to see if the lag has been rectified.

Spec ops isnt too hard ive got 59 stars and try using to two pistols to get under 30 seconds.

I used both pistols for the pit, just keep trying, there's a couple of different layouts to the enemies, I kept getting done right at the end shooting one enemy traget and it going straight through and hitting a civilian. Use the first handgun until you go into the fitst building, swap just as your going up the stairs, stab the pop out guy and you should have enough ammo in the pistol to get to the end. Also have you adjusted the sensativity of the controls, I put mine up a bit to move more freely.
