The reviews are rolling in and so far they are all on the positive side:
Eurogamer: 8/10
Gameinformer: 8/10
gamespot: 7.5/10
Joystick: 5/5 stars
The Guardian: 5/5 stars
Gametrailers.com: 8.2/10
Metacritic has a few more and they are also positive.

I got through the demo finally last night. It was my second attempt to stick it out. The first time I was less than impressed. But I'm not sure what changed because last night I did complete it and by the end of the demo I was kinda wanting more. The demo was really buggy so I can only imagine it was quite an early build which I'm hoping doesn't do the final game any justice. I may pick it up at the weekend if I can scrape some cash together but I'm not too bothered if I can't.
Can anyone who's played both the demo and the full release compare the two?

I havent played the demo but I can say if you bought it you wont be disappointed. If you dont like it you can always send it back and get The darkness II or something

I really wish I had the time for this now. It'll have to wait till summer unfortunately, by which time I will probably have something else on my mind to play :( it looks brilliant just as I expected. Was gonna get it as rental tomora but got Darkness II instead (KoA:R was high, D2 was medium)

From what I've heard of The Darkness 2 you could clear it on an over night rental, so for that reason I'll be grabbing Kingdoms tomorrow, or Catherine if the video library stocks it.

I am getting it later today. I will post my thoughts about it after playing it for a few hours.

I have played it for a few hours and the initial feeling I got from it has worn off it lacks depth IMO.

I like this game. It feels like a mix of Skyrim and LOTR Aragorn's Quest. The game looks beautiful and the combat is one of the best in an RPG. It does lack some depth in the quests but I feel that the fun in combat makes up for that. Definitely worth a rent IMO.

I've somehow managed to clock up 44hrs, which probably makes me quite the loser right now since the game only came out a few days ago.
If I'd based by purchase decision on the demo I'd probably not of bothered with it, so I'm amazed that I'm absolutely loving the game.
Once you start breaking down equipment and weapons to build bigger and better at the forges, or you start finding really cool stuff as you wonder the plains, it becomes quite addictive.
I will say one thing though, the story is not really very good. Or at least not presented in a way that you should really give a crap why you're doing the missions you're doing. It's pretty much get a mission and follow the marker on the map, once there kill whoever or whatever you're meant to kill and collect your reward.
Or maybe it's that I got so swamped with side missions that I only come back to the main story once in a while and therefore I'm only getting it in bits and pieces.
Still it's a great fun game to tie me over until my copy of Disgaea 4 arrives in the post. Poor Catherine's not even getting a look in either. I must find time to get back to that game.

Just up to 35 hours myself!
Absolutely loving the game, it's huuuuuuuuuuge!! So much to see, do, explore, collect & kill!!
So glad I didn't wait for the (inevitable) price drop now. I honestly think you get a lot of game for ur money and even at full price, the pound-to-hour playtime trade off is still very very good indeed!
It's a loot-whore's dream title.
Colour coding the loot like on WoW is a surefire way to make rpg'ers want to explore that little bit more!

It's nice to hear that you guys are enjoying hte game. I gave my preordered copy to my brother because I was and still am busy with FFXIII-2 but he knew that he had to let go of my copy at some point so he bought the game himself two days ago. So far he's really enjoying it and I can't wait to get into Amalur myself.

Currently 91% on the trophies…
Just the last few missions to do on Hard for the Platinum
Great game, really enjoyed it, but not as big as some of the reviews etc would have you believe!

10 Hours into the game and so far I'm really loving it. Going an all Finesse route with Bows and Faeblades.
I have yet to complete a single story related mission because I'm so busy doing all the side quests. It's so much fun I wouldn't even need a real story. So far I've invested some time in the House of Ballads faction quest line and it's really good.
Can't wait to get back to it and play some more!
