As a teen I absolutely adored management simulations such as Theme Park World/Inc, Theme Hospital and (in my opinion the best) Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2.
During the mid 2000s these games sort of dropped off the market, perhaps due to an emphasis from developers to try and add gimmicks and 3D environments which kind of ruined Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 for me.
I was wondering if any of the wonderful gamers at TSA knew of any modern games which have this style (hopefully with the sort of depth as RCT)?

I loved Theme Hospital and Rollercoaster Tycoons 1 and 2 too! I agree that nothing since has really measured up to those three, the only thing I can think of is the new Theme Park on the Appstore. Its free apparently, I've never tried it but I might have to now.

Yeah I haven't tried that either yet. Don't think I will either, don't appreciate the whole social aspect and pay for extras side of App games. I really hope a good follow up to these games is made one day, I think it would be wildly popular.

Deleted when I discoveed the in-game prices…and it isn't normal to see. Really we haven't had a goosd sim in a while, Cities XL is decent but the design is fucking terrible, devs haven't even fixed it….
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 was a great game, hope it returns thought the content was great but more should've been done. So theres just Cities in Motion, Tropico, Airline Tycoon 2 is meant to be great… and I hope theres a new Sid Meires Railroads… can't believe it doesn't work on modern systems, love to see a new version at least…

I managed to get Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 working on my Vista laptop, I still love playing that game. I played it a lot after my PS3 YLOD'd recently and I was waiting for the replacement. I like the way Rollercoaster Tycoon is presented, I think similar games like Thrillville are not as good without the same type of visual design.
