I need to get back to Just Cause 2 but it's a huge playground for fun and I've had my fun. The missions themselves are shockingly forgettable.

Hannypoppie and I continue to beat the living daylights out of Kingdom of Amalur. I am…. loving it! So effing enjoyable. Gutted for the studio (as they went under shortly afterwards) but what a rollocking good game.

Steam's Christmas sale has started so I'm currently poised to swoop in on what I fancy like a BBC DJ on Top of the Pops.

Just been playing the Soul Sacrifice demo. Its one hell of game, and demo for the fact. Graphics are crisp and colourful on the OLED. There is solid RPG powers in place such as wielding fire shards like bolts and rushing the enemy with ice; it never feels stagnant like one or two PSP RPGs could feel like. There is about six powers to wield at any one time, with an average of another three special on top of that which gives a lot of variety. I also played Ragnarok Odyssey which was also quite good, but no screenshots allowed. Posted a whole host of photos here if anyone wants to look. Apparently Fred Dutton on the EU blog said we should be getting an EU demo sometime early next year which is nice as there is clearly a story here and it would be nice to listen to it. Here's the link anyhow:

I've been going after a few of your Most Wanted scores and times MJB, just for the hell of it. You're proving to be an arse to beat!

Haha, fine then, it's on like Donkey Kong dong! I really like this latest Autolog effort, the constant visibility of the social competition adds so much to the game, I can't imagine what it's like without it.

Completed the Rage DLC and now working on my Ultra Nightmare playthrough which is just for 1 silver trophy :/ Oh well, it's actually quite challenging and fun since I don't have to do any side missions or worry about collectables!!

I'm also working on NFS Most Wanted on Vita which I'm enjoying! It's quite repetitive but great for the odd hour here and there on Vita, and the graphics are decent too! A few MP trophies are gonna be a twat though since I don't have 5 friends with the Vita version; and I need to be able to play 5 events on my speed list; and takedown a friend in MP! :(

@Youles you can add me as a friend on PSN if you like as early January I'll be getting NFS most wanted for the Vita.

Currently playing RAGE myself on the PC. I'm really getting stuck in to Dawn of War II finally and just downloaded Darksiders but it doesn't seem fantastic at the start. Hopefully it will improve as I go on but I'm seriously going to need my controller from home: bad port.

@Avengerrr – thanks mate, have sent you a PSN invite! Let me know when you get NFS, would be fun to have a few races, I'm really enjoying it so far and the MP seems rather good with some varying game modes! ;)

Me and MJB started our 'road to professional' run in re6, apart from a few ACCIDENTAL deaths *cough, spikes, cough*tongue, it's gone smoothly so far.
The other game i've been playing is halo 4, me and my gf are running through legendary difficulty. So far it's been fairly annoying as she hates using a controller for fps games. hodgi

@ Sympozium Ditto. It took me 6 days and 3 different items to defeat that last Boss laugh. out of curiosity which MH are you playing? If I end up getting a WiiU for my birthday this summer I might fancy getting Tri to keep me occupied over the summer.

@Youles funnily enough I tried to get NFS most wanted today (eager to do some MP) with a trade in, but I couldn't get in the shop: massive queue running right through the very small and thin shop. Managed to peep the shelf but they had sold out of quite a few things. Crap shop anyway. Ridiculous having something that small when the next decent GAME shop is miles away + £4 fare. And no HMV for miles either… cry

other games? well we have most wanted but the EA servers is shit so i can't finish 3 racers before getting kicked! hate EA servers!
then i have been playing some SoulCalibur V online but i am soooooo bad at the game so i don't even get mad if i loose… well, only if i loose to a guy who only know 2 spam attacks! but that rarely happens, normally i just meet a lvl A guy who has a 5:1 W/L ratio! like 2453 wins and 524 losses!surprised

I'm currently somewhere in between Nascar: Inside Line, Hitman: Absolution and XCOM: Enemy Unknown on the PS3 and Resident Evil: Revelations, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask and Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS. Gaming is good right now. Disclaimer: "good" may be a gross understatement.

After Far Cry 3 taking up so much of my time I finally got back to Hitman and XCOM. Hitman I completed last week and XCOM I've been playing since then. Thinking of firing up Dark Souls and tackling the dlc I've hardly touched. I also remembered I'm in the middle of a second playthrough of Dead Space 2 which I've not played in about six months, so think I may either start over again or continue on where I left off.

I found a dirt cheap copy of Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway, so might flute about with that for a bit.

Last night, Yogdog very kindly bought me Little Inferno. It would've been rude of me to not enjoy it right there and then. What a charming, little game. Greg (Watchful) was spot on with his 8 out of 10 although the price stings a little so always best to wait until it's discounted somewhat. Oh, the ending… was sublime! Production values and animation were way above the mark too. Trailer below:

And… I finished Kingdoms of Amalur. What a bloody awesome romp of an RPG that was. The final boss battle is below. Whip it in to 3:30 or so if you want to see the lovely, mahoosive creature that I had to best.

@avengerr I'm just playing the very first on PS2. I'm planning to buy a Wii U for Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate as well. Its kinda like the complete version with all the Portable 3rd content go on it I assume.

I have to say… Rage is crap so far! It's so effing generic and soulless it's actually a little untrue. The start of the game is bewilderingly strange. I'm also wrestling some nasty texture popping but that's for me and my hardware to sort out. However, you just start with "go here and do this" missions where my instant feeling was "oh… so… no actual game" in a way. I noticed a few people commenting on how it was more of a tech-demo for Id than anything else. Yeah…. talk about leaving me with absolutely zero emotion invested at all right now. 100 minutes into playing the game. Meh. Big, effing meh!!! lost

Rage is OK. I didn't expect any story or RPG gameplay. Just something where I can shoot at actual targets that want you dead instead of the same old 'oh look, there is the player, take cover…. then shoot. I'll think I'll stay here until I get shot' OR 'there are 47 of us, let's not take cover and go all guns blazing until we're popped down by the player'. At least with RAGE they go to f*** u up bad as anyone would when a stranger with a gun comes in to their hideout. It is the game play that seals it for me, sometimes I don't want to mess around with stats or shoot lifeless people and be content with it because the story is at least something to look forward to. I can see why some people may not like it, judging by people's opinions it seems like a love it or hate it game.

Something that really has gripped me though is Black Mesa. Damn its a good mod and I didn't play the original Half Life so I'm really enjoying that 90s luv for gaming. Also downloaded CryEngine 3 and was gob smacked by the graphics (DX11), will have to upload some shots sometime.

EDIT: forgot to mention, you can create a config file to fix the texture popping and increase texture resolution. Also the texture memory cache option in the menu helps. One of the things that made PC version better than consoles for me was no texture popping.
