Just found out its my bank stopping the card part of the transaction – because I was just topping up £5.00, they thought it could have been a fraudulent transaction. confused

Slowly getting closer to Wipeout!

You are a bit of a shifty character, Youles. Looks like I might have to use your code instead wink

Cons-

-My friend list have just 25 friends on the psvita when I actually have 73!! Really annoying as I can't send messages and compare trophys with the other 53friends yell, I do get no notifactions that a friends has logged in but when I click on him he's not on the friendlist :(

- It needs folders for games.

-Wi-fi seems a bit messy.

-Near says there is 35 people near me but on the map there is only 10 :S

But all in all i'm super pleased with the psvita.

@Mike – yeah, I'm pretty dodgy to be fair. Perhaps my O2 Direct Debit coming out on the same day I try to Top Up a Vodafone Pay-As-You-Go SIM does look a bit suspect!! lost

Not long until Richard arrives now! Come on Richie, where the fuck are ya?! Mike has games he needs to play!

I think I might actually mount Dick when he comes…..

No wait, that doesn't sound right…. wink

Have you had a text sent to your Vita from Vodafone yet? I was getting an error message on the website (you don't have to do this on your Vita, BTW) until I got a message from them that welcomed me to the network and had some nonsense about rewards. Then I was able to top up, and about 12 hours later (this morning) got the message with the PSN code for Wipeout in it.
I've now turned off 3G, so that the console has to use WiFi.

Sorry for further questions….but was your code sent via email, or to the Vita? And if it was to the Vita, will I need to have Wi-Fi turned off so that 3G is active, or is that just for the initial registration?

Thanks

Teflon, not to worry – code came through to Vita just now! Wohoo!

@Mike – I'd be careful about mounting Dick on arrival. You should at least offer to take him out first!

@DrNate – this is true!

Another Pro for the 3G Vita – not that its too useful, and may be obvious – but you can send text messages to it. So at least I can send amusing or abusive text messages to my friends with 3G Vitas!

My two pennies worth…

Pros:

  • It's a lovely machine, great build quality, and lovely and shiny
  • The games I've played so far are pretty much indistinguishable from their 'big brothers', which is exactly what I was after
  • The tiddly little games cases are lovely, and are making me not want to trade the games in

Cons:

  • The touch screen isn't quite perfect (although I'm pretty demanding as an iPhone & iPad owner) – sometimes the responsiveness isn't *quite* spot-on and I've needed to tap twice to make something happen
  • The browser seems pretty crap, and has failed to load pages a number of times when I'm mid-game
  • The tiddly little cases are lovely, and are making me not want to trade the games in, which is going to cost me a fortune.

Pros -

  1. Its shiney!
  2. Near is fantastic. Surprised by how many people around me are playing on Vita
  3. I can now score goals on Fifa because of the rear touch controlls.

Cons -

  1. Froze up earlier, turned it off, put it in my coat pocket and when I got it back out again, the blue PS light was flashing and it wouldnt switch back on again. Seemed to have frozen while turning off.

PROTIP – If you get this, Hold down the power button for about 60 seconds and the back end menu will pop up (just like the PS3 one, and you can restart from there.

Good news – my MotorStorm RC trophies now show on my full trophy list on the Vita and the trophy count on my PSN Trophy Card. But whilst the trophies are added to my total count, you cannot see the Vita trophies when you go to http://www.playstation.co.uk so I suspect Vita trophies won't show on your PS3 trophy list either at this stage.

Nice to see this has made some progress already though and not delayed through an update or patch! hodgi

I was going to give it a while to see what I find wrong and the first thing that comes to mind is the content manager it takes hours to copy like 400 music files and with the PSP I bet it would've been quicker.. must've been hours even copying pictures over seems to take a bit too long. Its a shame its not like the PSP where you could just add, create folders and its really annoying its the same thing that annoys me with the Ipod, pain in the ass to sort files with these programs that is forced on us…

Yeah, I hope the PS3 also gets a patch to include any Vita trophies. After all it says "Trophy Collection" not "PS3 Trophy Collection". I'm sure it'll happen at some point, along with the gamercards.

Indeed, its a great bit of kit! And when you think the PSP eventually produced amazing games such as GTA, Gran Turismo and MGS Peace Walker – I'm very excited about the possibilities with Vita!

What days is your 18th mate? Not long now?

Well assuming its not going to be wrapped – since you already know what it is – you could request that its fully charged and ready for use when you're given it!

Also, since you have time, get yourself a case – it comes with nothing and since it has a rear touch screen too, you should buy a decent case ready to protect it as soon as it comes out the box.

Otherwise, all I can say is that I hope it goes quickly for you as its a great console.

Can you take your mind off it and play some more Dead Space 2? Is that your next Platinum goal?

It was so good that when I accidentally dropped my psp down a flight of stairs it was still fine. laugh Any other case and it would of been smashed.

Yeah Dead Space 2 next, havent had time to get back into it. Im an hour into Zealot which isnt too hard at the moment. Then its hardcore after that
