I have no idea. I think there just those challenge things for badass tokens. Still infuriatingly obsessed with finding them though.

I think it's just for XP, it doesn't add anything to the story, it's kinda like the feathers or flags in the Assassins Creed games or Intel in COD.

@gazza – Fair enough, but all of the things you mentioned have trophies associated with/to them.
I know they are a 'collectible' (of sorts) & so don't add anything to the story, but i didn't know whether they were actually required for anything other than a small xp boost (such as a tweaked ending or a trophy requirement for example).

As far as I know Forrest it is purely an xp boost. I'm not sure if there is a trophy for so many challenges done. I had a look at the trophy list a while ago and nothing stood out as "oh shit collectibles" so I think we are fairly safe if we miss them.

Yeah, i thought that – Nothing has really stood out to me that you need to complete all challenges, or collect a certain amount of stuff, but there are a lot of hidden trophies! 
I guess they just added them for those that like to search out everything in a game (& for the xp boost of course).

I haven't looked at the trophy list as I'm afraid of any spoilers, but I reckon there's a fair chance one of the hidden trophies might be for them!
