Also, does it mean trophy related things are reset.. e.g. kill counts n that stuff cus if people don't sync before install, that could mean they miss out on easy stuff like 100 kills or complete chapter X.

trophy related things mate they all go to 0 so if you were 200 kills away from a trophy you now have to start again.

I just started the game again I must say loving the game very addictive.
