Just been playing this again, some of these trophies are rediculous for bronzes! Maybe the game is just about time-consumption, but I've got more interesting things to do than discover every 1km square. Has anybody completed this game? No spoilers please, but do you get to do the exploration stuff after the story ends?

No, once you "enter the heart of darkness", theres no going back, so if your looking for trophy completion, make sure you got everything you need first..

However, I got 45% of all the trophies just by playing through the story mode..  Including entering every 1km square. (Dr Livingstone trophy).  I could have got a lot more, but by the time I got to the point of no return, I'd already sunk so much time into it, I was fed up with it and just wanted to finish, so didnt bother tracking down all the diamonds/safe houses/tower missions, etc..

I have most of the trophies for FC2 (all the single player ones and a few of the online ones), and they're just time consuming more than anything. The one that sapped the most time was finding all the diamond briefcases, and the fucking thing was still only a bronze. I had a map with all the diamond locations but some of them were still a complete nightmare to get to because they were on cliff faces and stuff. You should get the Dr Livingstone (discovering every square km of the map) trophy just through playing the story, as long as you drove to every mission location and/or did a bit of exploring. As Severn2j says, there's a point on the game where there's no return, so you have to do everything you want to do before then. You don't need to worry about accidentally going past this point as the game will let you know when you're about to.

You'd have to forget getting a platinum on this unless you want to play nothing but FC2 for the next couple of years (Seriously, it would take you that long to reach the highest rank in multiplayer and unlock all weapon manuals).

Theres a glitch on the silver for completing all assasination targets.

Sometimes the game will say you've done it when you actually haven't and it'll come up on your screen saying you've completed it, but the target isn't dead so it doesn't count.

You can imagine my frustration at not getting the trophy for getting all the diamonds in the game after getting all of the briefcases.

Fucking hell! angry

I did read about this glitch before I started the cell tower missions, so I always made sure they were dead. 50 cal sniper rifle normally made sure they were dead.

The main thing about FC2 that annoyed me was the inability to use stealth. Whenever I tried to stealth kill someone with my machete, they cried out before they died and alerted the whole sodding camp. Same with silenced weapons – the enemies cry out before they die.

That stealth suit was good for not getting spotted, combined with the silent rifle, it works fine.

But you're right, the stealth was botched.

I have not played the game since just because going through it all again is the most painful experience ever. No bronze trophy was worth it.

I saw you mention earlier the gold for the weapon manuals, jeeeeeeeez that should be a platinum in itself!

Does anyone know if Ubisoft have patched the game breaking barge glitch out of this yet so I can go back to my non-reviewing game save and enjoy pricking about?

Who are you playing as? If you're playing as marty then you won't get the barge glitch – it only happens to the other characters. The game is full of glitches, so you'll encounter one of them anyway.

The most annoying one is the buddy revival one that you can get on a second playthrough – you all know the drill that after you 'die' for the first time your rescue ready buddy will come and save you. Well, with this particular glitch, the buddy revives you and then immediately shoots you so that you die again permanently. The only way that you can cure it is to try and rush the buddy with your machete straight after revival and then kill them before they get you. Annoying isn't the word for this game.

Yeah I know the Marty thing, when I reviewed the game I used him but I'd already started a proper game as someone else and I want to go back and play it properly without rushing it for the review and getting more trophies on my proper account.

It really annoys mebecause i loved it and actually reviewed it really high because I presumed the glitches would be patched out within a week or two but Ubi seem to just be allowing a broken game to sell loads of copies.

I think, with hindsight, that if I was reviewing it again I would have to say that it will be a great game when it's finished…

When I was playing the game I just looked past all the glitches and everything and I really enjoyed it. There are a couple of annoyances other than glitches (like bulletproof people), but I though that it was actually pretty good if you got a fairly bug-free run.

The funny thing is is that Ubi's support for the game seems to have disappeared into thin air. I remember that there was a thread on the official FC2 forums that was posted by one of the team – they asked for people to give accounts of any bug/glitches that they had encountered and provide game saves where possible. I thought that this would eventually lead to a patch which fixed a large number of issues, but no patch has arrived and all efforts from Ubi seem to have poofed into thin air.

Probably realised how larger job it was, and that it was selling well enough without a patch and so just quitely dropped it.

Could well be the case. If so, it's very sad.

It is a good game, imo..  Well worth a playthrough and you'll pick up half the trophies just by going through the story.  I dont know what the MP is like tho, I only played it once, and wasnt really bothered, but the SP game was great.  Although by the time I'd finished the story I'd had enough, so not worthy of a second playthrough..  It does start slow tho, so give it some time to get into it.

Yeah ive been playing it for a bit now and unlocked as many of the weapons as i can from the weapon shop convoy quests im guessing to unlock the rest i have to forward the story further along ? so far ive completed 12% a couple of the buddie missions and a few cell towers and only a few faction quests im getting kind of annoyed that there isn't a faster way to travel would be nice to have the fast travel like fall out 3 busses aren't to bad but having to constantly bush bash or go through check point camps is just annoying i normal zoom past them and if they chase me down usualy just get out with a rocket launcher and blow their vehicles up and get back in mine and im on my way but still i like the realism they have added with the weapon jams and how your buddies come to rescue you agreeagreeagree dreading trying to find all the diamonds though ive got 38 cases so far still heaps to go :(

Cant agree more with this comment. The gameplay is good but you just need to percivere, there is alot of travelling around and random people killing you which gets really quite annoying

I really wouldn't bother with all the diamonds, just for a poxy bronze trophy.  There's something like 250 cases I think, and after one play through and getting pretty much all the ones I went near to I only had about 70.  You'll definitely need a guide to get them all, but frankly the amount of time it would take is just not worth it.  You're looking at hours and hours of work, not mention it's made worse by the respawning checkpoints.

if your looking for trophies i really wouldn't recommend this game. actually, i dont think i would recommend it at all because of the online. im still playing through the story, and i will finish it, but im not going online again. its so full of problems its unbelievable, people throwing you out of games if your winning, randomly losing thousands of points and constant waits for games.
