Offline*SPOILER WARNING*
Currently I Only have the 5 first which is story related, but I'll guess I'll post them at least.
Instrument of Fate
Took the first steps toward challenging an unjust fate.
Instrument of Dissent
Survived the Purge to confront a greater peril.
Instrument of Tragedy
Strode into danger's den and paid the consequences.
Instrument of Flight
Slipped through the net and lived to fight another day.
Instrument of Vengeance
Resolved to be more than a victim of circumstance.
I think most of the secret if not all of them is story related. I may be wrong though

Anyone know where there is a guide to getting all of the items, including weapon upgrades etc?
Thanks :)
There are few weapon upgrade guides floating about here and here .
As for items, most of them can be bought from the shops or from spoils. You dont need them all in your inventory for the trophy you just need to have had them at one point and you also only need one version of the ultimate weapons for each character.

OfflineIm on 62% now. Im going for the all items and weapons one by killing adamantoises and picking up Ingotsfor money (and hopefully trpezahedrons to upgrade with. Only got one Ultimate weapon. By the time I have them all I should be near enough good to go for the rest. Its a right long slog but im uber determined to platinum this. Must be over 70 hours in by now. PHEW!!

OfflineVery much hoping to Platinum this. A long way off right now though.
Went from about 5 hours in first week (lots of work) to about 26 over the last weekend. Am at Chapter 9 at the moment, but have maxed the Crystariums available to everyone with about 30000CP to spare and I've only just started the chapter. But maxing all roles could take a long time, I think I heard around 700,000CP or so to max out a single role.

I'm trying to Platinum this also, the postgame (after completing the story) is quite fun and I'm addicted to the Hunts. Yeah you do need a lot of CP later to max out everything but wait till later in the game to do grinding for that, as the CP to time ratio, accounting for the scalability in CP node costs, is much better at the end. You can also tie in your CP grinding later with farming for upgrade materials and high value items to sell. There is also an accessory called the Growth Egg, which you can get much later in the game and will double the CP you receive from fights.

OfflineIt takes loads and loads of CP. I have aabout 1 1/2 roles for each character to do now. Im farming adamantoises with the Growth Egg which give 80000CP which barely does 1 node on the Crystarium! Im 70odd hours in, got 1 mark left (which is bloody annoying) and 1 ultimate weapon to get. Ive got at least 15 hours left before I am close to platting this….probably more.
BUT I WILL DO IT!!!

Yes mate, don't lose track of your focus.
Let me know how many hours it takes you so I get a good idea.
How are you finding the 5 star every mission trophy? I had a go on missons 3-12 last night and it gave me a kick up the backside as I was constantly shy of max rating. I asked my cousin and he said that apparently the target time changes depending on your strength and magic levels. Don't know how credible that is but I guess I did have uprated weapons and I those marks could have been done by a standard party before I completed the game. Anyhow I managed to redo them with 5 star though using Aurora Scarfs.

Upgraded weapons/accesories decrease the Time limit needed for star ratings. I managed to go through and do a lot of them first time (over 35 out of the 63 ive done). The easiest way is to wait until you have done the 64th and final mark which gives you a Gold Watch which increases the time limit for all missions.
Im yet to get it coz you will need a fully upgraded squad to stand a chance. Ive got it down to half way but it takes ages and then just unleashes a move which nails me for 16000 HP and kills my party leader. Im gonna need a party with at least 25000 HP to beat it I think.

I love Final Fantasy… But really? Where are they going with this? it's a action rpg? they need to retrace their roots. Im Bored and it's near the end. Its a good game it looks great, but they're dragging the name through the mudd.
yeah, I agree, this one ain't got the same charm as the previous games.
hell, I enjoyed the latest star ocean more than I enjoy this game, and that game was terrible
