Okay so as an PS3 online noob (only online within the last month) i have come across the highly annoying situation of having already completed a game and then realising they now trophies.
Two examples:
1) Fallout 3. Having spent hours and hours completing this awesome game to a point whereby i had all but 1 bobbleheads, found every location, made every gun and ended as The Last Best Hope for Humanity, I went back for a little play about. Did the update and Bingo! Fallout 3 now has a huge list of trophies. Most of which i would have achieved. I don't think i have the time and patience to go back and do it all again. I certainly wouldn't be as investigative as i was first time round. How annoying that they cant link into your saved data in some way!!
2) Uncharted. Now this is a game that i really enjoyed too, and again, having done it on the 3 hardest settings i find out they have introduced trophies. Looking through the list i noticed that this could have potentially been my first Platinum trophy which makes the whole thing even more annoying. And on top of all that Uncharted has it's own in-built rewards and medals. Why can't these be converted into trophies.
I suppose there is no real objective to this posting other than to moan about missed opportunites. Anyone else had similar with other games?

If trophies are that important to you, you cfould always play them again… Or restart them with a new saved game (like I did for Burnout as you don't need to do everything in the game to get all trophies).
Or, you know, be grateful that you enjoyed two great games. ;)

It was more of a Sod's law thing that's all.
I am very grateful for the two great games. But your safe in the knowledge that you have achieved an ever elusive Platinum

GTA 4 is an example for me as i've completed the game 100%, i will play through it again sometime. but the thought of finding every hidden package/pigeon again in the game is something i need to mentally prepare myself for.
ah well at least it's one of the best games i've ever played.

Exactly. I have no problem playing through games again but when they are so immense like GTA and Fallout, it is depressing to think of even giving it go!!!

I suppose it all boils down to the game in question. With Burnout, I restarted the game, earnt a platinum over the course of a couple of weeks, then reverted back to my old save game… and is probably the only platinum I will ever earn!
GTA4 on the other hand has a 100% trophy, and I know for a fact I will never do that. In fact, I'm only about 20% into the game and can;t even face the idea of restarting just to get the trophies I've missed so far, so GTA will remain a big fat zero for me.

I've played Fallout 3 three times, one of which I was about the same spot as you were when the Tropy patch came out, but when I made a new file I had finished all trophy requirements in under 20 hours.
Really though, if you enjoy the game I'm sure you'll enjoy it again.

Exactly. I had GTAIV at 100% before the trophy patch; I enjoyed the game so did it to 100% a second time after the patch. The extra stuff like shooting pigeons (and all that jazz) was easier and less painful a second time through anyway.

I completed GTAIV 100% twice already. Love the game so was not a chore to me. It was good to revisit the game and have another blast around.

Yup…meant that I could make different choices the second time around.

I've finished Fallout 3 three times! Besides Fallout 3 trophies don't take as long as you might think but they do require preparation in that knowing when to save etc.

I haven't completed GTA 4 once yet and never intend to. It's just not interesting enough, the story just hasn't appealed to me.
Uncharted I restarted but have become slightly disillusioned with. Also having just got Killzone, I spend time playing that instead of trophy whoring.

For my sins I traded in Fallout 3 once i had completed it because i didn't have the trophies update, coupled with no online mode retired it from my collection. So i now need to rebuy!! I will give it another go. 20 Hrs to complete it is hardcore. I can't even think about doing it that quick.
Replaying Drakes at the moment and the trophies are actually coming thick and fast which is making the whole thing feel new, which is good. I'm dreading the Crushing difficulty though!!

Reguarding GTA, I'm currently working on the 100%, and I'm on 94.17% and have no idea where the rest will come from, hopefully it pans out in favour, I don't want to start over.
The pigeons and jump are nice and simple when you have a good map and a spare hour or two.
And with Uncharted, even with the Platinum, it's a great game which I'd hapily play again.
Also a hint, if you do hard then crushing, you also get the lower competion trophies (normal and easy), so saves you some time.
