If that is indeed true, you have missed one of the best one on one beat em ups to grace a console in the first Tekken Tag (Streetfighters & MK etc aside of course). It truly was great & ate up many an hour on my PS2.
I have similar hopes for this one, but it's just a shame to see online trophies in there, as you know for a fact that there will be beasts online that do nothing but play the game & constantly seek to destroy n00bs. There doesn't seem to be too many online trophies, which is refreshing, but i guess the issue for me is what sort of time commitment/skill level is going to be required to become 1st dan online?
Also, the term 'Fight Lab' concerns me a little bit in the fact that it has stages. This just makes me think of Tekken 6's story mode (i forget what it was actually called now), which was pretty goddamn awful tbh. i like the odd walk along beat em up, but it just wasnt implemented very well & had no place in a Tekken game.

Personally, out of the two i would advise Hybrid – Its a HD-fied version of Tekken Tag that i referred to before (with trophies), comes with a trophy enabled glorified demo of Tekken Tag 2 & also comes with an animated Tekken movie.
All Tekken 6 comes with is a laughable story mode (which makes up around 60% of the game as a whole)! 
Plus, Tekken Hybrid has Tekken Bowl. Nothing beats Tekken Bowl!

THXZ for the advice forrest… I'll look into Tekken hybrid but it won't be for a few weeks yet. As i just got darksiders 2 and a new scuff controller.

No worries – That is what i would do anyway. I have had both, but i kept Hybrid & traded Tekken 6, as the story mode was pretty pitiful (& suffered from a pretty harsh difficulty spike too).
I am in the same situation though, got Darksiders myself today & only got Sleeping Dogs the other day too!
…Plus the other 50 or 60 games i am yet to complete of course…
I don't know if its just a bit of terminology i have missed as well, but i have to admit to not knowing what the hell a scuff controller is? Am i being a bit daft?

Scuf controllers are really high quality modded controllers. Don't worry they are mlg approved. Each controller is hand crafted, hand finished and tested before shipping. The ps3 version has better triggers, extended right stick, better grip and 2 back slides. Overall their great for competitive gaming, but there £80…

Ah ok, makes sense i guess. Not for me personally as i am quite the fan of the DS3 (i would buy an Xbox if i could just get used to the pads), but i can at least support the shout for better triggers.
The L2 & R2 tend to be 'loose' at best.
