If you don't have the game, you don't get the trophies.
*Unless you borrow all your games off friends, or get given them for free, or work for a game shop/mag/site, that is…

Now isn't someone being smart.
What I meant was that (appart from buying the game) the trophies that are easy require you to buy additional characters and such.

Sorry, I was just being facetious, no offence intended ;)
If a full-price game did this I'd be up in arms*. With Pain, I'm not that bothered as I view it as a kind of piecemeal modular game – buy the bits you want, don't buy the bits you don't.
* Having said that, LBP did it – they added the MGS trophies with a patch, and they're shown in your trophy list whether you buy the MGS pack or not. That's wrong – they should only be there if you buy the pack. Hang on, I've just contradicted myself, haven't I?

They are, but you don't need them for platinum.

This game “PAIN” is the biggest pile of rubbish ever, how sony can put this utter drivel on PSN is beyond me…i bought it, played it and then deleted it………..no wonder there's no demo for it, they would'nt have sold any! Sorry guys, i know some people liked it but i my opinion, its the worst thing on PSN. Not to mention the fact that almost all the trophies can only be obtained via extra download content.. I felt robbed by this game….AT LEAST DICK TURPIN WORE A MASK WHEN HE WAS ROBBING YOU!
