Sony is planning a patch for release today to ease the online problems that we've all been facing with the PS3 version of GTA IV. Apparently the patch will fix the connectivity errors, but will not directly address the freezing and hanging bugs, something that Rockstar suggests you disconnect from PSN to get around.

Quite how you'll get the patch without being connected to the Web is anyone's guess.

I have no real problems with it, other than the multiplayer for 3 days in the week of release. The patch is live now, by the way.

my game started out fine got loads of playin time in then had a few troubles now its fine mountain out of a mole hill thats what i think !

I have not been able to play for more than 10 minutes since getting the game. I have done all things suggested to make the game work.... Very frustrating owning a $60 frisbee

It didn't crash for me until nofi said his had crashed. Mine has been buggy ever since.

Exactly. Things crash, PSOnes crashed, PS2s crashed, PS3s crash. MY GTA IV has crashed twice, within minutes of each other, on Thursday of last week, and never did it before that and hasn't done it since then. It's obviously not such a huge problem.

And GTA IV didn't crash on us once when doing the TSA review. It's not the epidemic the web would have you believe.

That black box under my TV is not a PC. Console games do not crash or freeze, I never had it happen on the PS2. Assassins Creed froze on me ten too many times and then I made a descision. Zero tolerance for buggy game, simple as that.

Alright, I play GTA IV online with many many many people. I know many people that own the game, and not one of them has had problems. It's entirely possible that they didn't know about it.

Your friend can't find a copy? Tell him to leave the house. And why is your copy still unopened? Busy week?Saying Rockstar didn't know about this bug is ridiculous. Didn't they put the finished product in a PS3?

Oh, I am sure they did know and released anyway. I've had problems with loading certain saved games and one freeze, but still it's worth the admission price.

You don't need to act so high and mighty. They're working on it, as we already know. So there was a bug in a game, oh dear, but it's not completely unheard of, and we all know that, since this is Rockstar, if they knew, they would not have released.

Well, that is it. I am selling my unopened copy to my friend who cannot find one. I'll wait till Rockstar get their shit togeather and gives me bug free game. And once the patch arrives if it crashed even once then in the bin it goes.
