Despite Sony doing absolutely nothing wrong, the Church has decided to forgive them anyway. In what we now call the ‘Cathedral Row’ – which is a great name for a game – Sony apparently defamed the Church and probably religion in general because of the use of Manchester Cathedral in the game. The fact that nobody realised it was Manchester Cathedral until the Church engineered the row is best not mentioned.
The Dean of the Cathedral, who is not just Reverend but Very Reverend said:
I think some important lessons have been learnt. So we do forgive Sony for what they have done, even though they still believe they have done nothing wrong.
He then went on to say that the number of visits from young people and tourists had increased as a result of the ‘row’.
The Cathedral’s coffers are swelling due to extra visitors who only turned up after the Church kicked off a row in the media. Hmm, not just multi-national corporations that have marketing departments then?
