Ah, good start. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is at the Play.com Event, and a quick scoot around the Ferrari Dealership shows an unexpected 2007 Formula One car. The stats are blank, as with most ‘special’ cars in Gran Turismo, and the ticket is 2,000,000 credits! Other new Dealerships include specific tuner makes such as Opera (as with GT 4) and the pre-tuned cars appear in the regular manufacturer Dealerships.
It’s hard to understate the importance of the open-wheeled cars – if Sony set up a tournament for in-car view only F1 cars around Suzuka we’ll be the happiest people on the planet. In other news, pre-orders for the game have already passed a million – this is going to be the turning point for the PS3, right here, right now.
