Classic Ico Converted To A Cheap Costume

Media Molecule have revealed that this Thursday will see LittleBigPlanet play host to Team ICO’s classic Ico and Shadow of the Colossus in the form of some stickers, a few sound effects and a couple of costumes for your Sackboy.  Presumably in an attempt to further build hype for The Last Guardian (both Ico and Shadow are out of print) I personally feel that this particular DLC has completely raised the bar for unnecessary cross game promotion in LittleBigPlanet, and being a huge fan of Ueda’s titles I actually think this is one step too far.

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are deep, beautiful games and to simply take the bare principles and wrap them around a Sackboy in an attempt to get some cheap sales is close to arrogance.  There’s no particulars on the stickers, but we can only assume they’re of a similar, basic and somewhat insulting nature to the costumes, like the one pictured above.  We’ll hold further judgement until we’ve seen the DLC for ourselves, but time would have been better spent either reissuing the two PS2 games, combining both onto a Blu-ray or, better still, getting them on the Store.

What do you think about this latest batch of Sackboy costumes?
