If you’ve read our Gran Turismo PSP review you’ll know we loved it, and although we haven’t yet received our box of PSPgos with complementary bottles of champagne we’re sure the newly styled portable, like the PS3 slim last month, will invigorate sales for Sony. Anyone picking up a PSPgo is entitled to a free copy of Gran Turismo PSP, but how do you get it? It’s easy and because we’re nice people here at TheSixthAxis, we’ll tell you.
Firstly, buy a PSPgo in one of the participating countries. Easy, assuming you’ve got the cash. Then, you’ll sign to sign into the PSN and the PlayStation Store on that PSPgo using a valid PSN account – if you don’t have one, you’ll be able to create on on the PSPgo, so don’t worry. Then, and this bit’s important, download the special Gran Turismo Theme that’ll be sat there in the PSN Store’s ‘Latest’ section before midnight on October 10th.
Once downloaded (the theme is free) you’ll get an email containing a redemption code, so make sure your email address is correct when you sign up to the PlayStation Network. Once you get your code (should be within a week) use the ‘redeem code’ bit at the top right of the PlayStation Store, enter the code and then it’ll give you the option to download. Assuming the version of the game hasn’t changed from when we reviewed it, it’s roughly a GB in size.
Note that the offer only applies to owners of a PSPgo, not a PS3, PC or any other version of the PSP. You must download the theme before midnight on October 10th, 2009. The version of the game is exactly the same as what you would purchase from PlayStation Store. Once you get your code there’s no rush to enter it and grab your game, but we assume you’ll want to because it’s fantastic. However, the code will expire if not used by October 1, 2010.
