A survey sent to Kotaku from IPSOS Online Research gives an indication into the type of packages that Sony might be offering via paid subscriptions to the PlayStation Network.
The survey gives an indication of cost and features that will be available for each option, including: 1 one hour trial of full titles, cross-game voice chat and free access to PSOne classics, PSP Minis and PS3/PSP themes, and member only in-game content.
In the survey there are 4 different options; 3 of them are $69.99 with the 4th being $29.99 for a 12 month subscription. The survey begins with the following text:
Sony is considering offering a premium PlayStation Network subscription in the future. The subscription offering would provide new premium features you could choose to pay for and are in addition to the features currently available for free such as access to online multiplayer gaming (current features would remain free).
Other features mentioned include Cloud gaming storage, Token Wagering (tokens that can be exchanged for content), Discounted Store Content and Access to Betas.
This is in no way represents anything concrete from Sony but it certainly looks like the paid subscription idea is one that they want to implement. The reaction from this survey could shape and change their plans completely or it could reinforce their present ideas.
Seeing as this is a survey, what do you think?
