Planet Minigolf is the latest from Zen Studios, and it’s packed to the brim with goodies to play with. Alongside a normal story mode, you have the ability to create and share your own holes/courses, taking inspiration from LittleBigPlanet. The trophies look quite difficult and time-consuming, especially “Designer”. Games like these usually live or die based on their gameplay, and judging from the demo, you should certainly give it a go.
If you’ve been looking for a game set in the Wild West, look no further than Red Dead Redemption. Our review should definitely be enough to convince you that you need to play this game, but if you need more, you can take my word on it. Rockstar seem to always put a drop of this secret sauce that always makes their games and characters interesting. The game has oodles of things to do, and the trophies reflect that. You might be able to get all of the single-player silverware, but multiplayer is another story. Those of you who managed to grind for the GTA IV platinum should be able to manage it, but otherwise this platinum is staying in your dreams.
The racing genre has had a bit of a boost recently, thanks to Blur, Split/Second and ModNation Racers. Blur looks to me like it wants to be Mario Kart with real cars, and I have no problem with that at all. The trophies don’t appear to be too difficult, especially for all you racing pros out there, though “Somebody stop me!” makes it seem like it will be a while before you can get the shiny platinum for this game. Have you seen those French ads for the game? Seems like Activision love to cause controversy for their games, eh?
My favourite trophy of the week is:
Sam & Max: The Tomb of Sammun-Mak/ Silver
Looters of the Lost Toybox
Successfully raided the Tomb of Sammun-Mak.
Allusions never fail to make me grin, and this one is no different. I already feel like watching it again… see you next week!
