Portal 2 Delayed

Breaking the hearts of countless dimension shifters in one fell swoop, Valve have confirmed that Portal 2 will miss its planned 2010 release date. Revealed in one of the company’s signature cryptic emails to games media, the missive states:

Aperture Science, doing business as Aperture Laboratories LLC, in partnership with Valve today announced the successful completion of an ethics-review-panel-supervised release date restructuring process. Portal 2, the sequel to the ground-breaking title that earned over 30 Game of the Year awards despite missing its original ship date, is now targeted for a 2011 release.”

There’s more but that’s all we’re prepared to recite for fear of a global cerebral meltdown. It’s not all bad news, however, as the much mooted “E3 Valve Surprise” has been unveiled to be “Portal 2 related.” A PS3 version, perhaps? We said they were cryptic, not insane.
