Dragon Age “Golems of Amgarrak” DLC Coming Soon

Bioware have today announced the next batch of downloadable content for Dragon Age: Origins. The “Golems of Amgarrak” pack will bring a whole new story, new characters, and new environments for the game, and players will be able to earn “powerful rewards” that transfer back into your main Origins and Awakening game.

“Delve deep underground,” says Bioware, “to save a missing dwarven expedition in search of ancient secrets for creating monstrous constructs. Only you can uncover the gruesome fate that befell them.”

Offering an “advanced challenge” for even the game’s most experienced players, the DLC will see you face an “all-new terrifying creature” (presumably, given the pack’s title, Golems), and will be released for PC, PS3 and 360 on August 10th.

  1. Is this game any good? Seems to have some support from the developers still.

    • I personally love Dragon Age. I have it on the PS3 and am thinking about getting it on the PC now. More DLC is always welcome, but if they could make it more of a bang for your buck that would make me SO happy! Still, it’s a great game for those of you who are looking for one of the last “true” RPGs. I recommend it if you don’t get bored by lots of dialogue.

    • Dragon Age is great, though it’s bit troubled by lag-fest and bugs sometimes, which hopefully the upcoming 1.04 patch will cure.

The DLC packs are decent, almost all of them are fun, but they are way to short and therefore to expensive. The best DLC pack is The Stone Prisoner, which clearly was part of the game and has been cut become DLC. The Stone Prisoner is included in the CE though.

And last gripe with it, is the Awekening addon. It can only be bought via PSN store in EU, when on a PS3, which makes it crazy expensive: 32£. The 360 version can be found for 13£ >_>

But the game it self is great, has lots of side quests, takes around 40 hours to complete and if you want to platinum Origins, you have to play it through almost three times, so more then 120 hours :)

    • If you have a suitably powerful enough PC, get it on that. Far cheaper.

  2. i loved dragon age and got all the dlc for it until awakening when i found out it was £31 (or something like that) and didnt bother with it after that but if your not afraid to read alot and listen to hour of conversations then it is a very good game

  3. It’s also a pretty ugly game. Bad graphics. It isn’t as good as the ‘true’ RPGs, far too simplistic, but if you’re a fan of those, you’ll surely like this one.
Although to my opinion the DLC is wayy to expensive.

  4. It’s generally one of the best games out there. You can get it for fuck all now too. I was very unsure about it but there’s so much depth and multiple choices it gives you hours of gameplay. Also picked up all the dlc, all of which are excellent.

  5. Ill wait for the inevitable GOY Edition with all the DLC

    • Thats what im waiting for!
