Enslaved Gamescom Trailer Has Plenty Of Robot Death

The gamescom trailer for Ninja Theory’s latest, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, has been released. Featuring some dramatic voicework and plenty of gameplay footage from the upcoming adventure title, we also get to see Monkey destroying lots of evil robots.

The story is being penned by Alex Garland, of Sunshine and 28 Days Later, and will be released for 360 and PS3 on October 8th.

  1. Best trailer for the game so far. I’m seeing Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Jak & Daxter (the hoverboard part), and lots of other influences.

Big fan of Heavenly Sword but, up until now, haven’t really been that interested in Enslaved. The above has changed my mind.

    • I’m really looking forward to this actually, but I think it’s one of those games that could swing either way. I’ll wait and see what people are saying after release.

  2. looks great. Nice colour, exciting, different. Never heard of this game but really interested after that.

  3. i’ve thought this game looked good when i first saw some screenies ages ago. i relli hope i can get a TV and new PS3 soon!

  4. Looking forward to this because of Alex Garland’s involvement hopefully fleshing out the story and characters in ways we rarely see in videogaming.

Also I liked Heavenly Sword and although the gameplay was shallow, the story was implemented well.

  5. Looking good, it’s definitely got my attention now, where I was a little skeptical before…

My only qualms is with the voice acting. The bloke has got a strange accent, almost like an (ironically) bad copy of Russel Crowe… Everything just sounded a bit deadpan and unemotional too…

Still, nice graphics, nice action, nice seeming and simplistic plot, and should have some pretty good gameplay too.

    • The voice acting on the bloke is utterly soulless :-( Shame. Great trailer. Nariko-clone in the first scene much?!

  6. I really wasn’t expecting to be that impressed. Touche Ninja Theory…

  7. All these games are now popping up that I had no interest in but the trailers change everything. Arg, that’s not good for my wallet.

    • Trailers don’t mean shit…have a look towards hollywood ;-)

Although with that being said, this does look good.

      Yours El Contradicto.

  8. I used to watch Monkey as a kid, and when I heard this was based on the same legend, I was very interested in its interpretation.

This video just moved it from ‘high interest’ to ‘must buy’ for me.

This is like 2008/09 all over again… between October and March, there are so many great-looking games due that it’s going to be an expensive period.

I need to make a list of titles and release dates, and figure out which ones I ‘must’ have on release, which ones can go on my Christmas list, and which ones I can wait for a price drop on!

    • yeah its based on the same story and dude everyone has to see monkey at some point in their lives!

  9. Game looks pretty cool. Wierdly the graphics seem a step back from Heavenly Sword. S’pose this is just a video though…
