Special Edition Wii & DS Heading To The UK

Not content with making us drool with the announcement of a 25th Anniversary Mario boxset, Nintendo has now confirmed that a special edition Wii and DSi XL will also be making their way to the UK.

The DSi XL will feature a mushroom, a flower, and a star graphic next to the camera; comes bundled with a copy of New Super Mario Bros, and will be released on October 22nd.

The Wii will come with the original Donkey Kong, plus New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Sports and the red Wii Remote Plus.  It will be released on October 29th.

  1. Thats a lot of red! The Wii would be better if it had the same graphics as the DS on it, nice bundle all the same though

  2. Bright red wouldn’t fit with my all black setup, so still holding out for a black Wii with the all important Wii Remote Plus

  3. that red is a tad pink, no?
    mighty ugly imho :P

  4. Its very red…. sadly I already have the black Wii but for some reason it looks appealing even though I already have a Wii with alot of virtual games…

  5. I think the Wii looks OK, but I’m loving the DSi XL.

  6. Looks alright in red, but I’d personally want a white one, maybe black.

  7. I love it!!!!

    • and by it I mean them both :-P

      • im not greedy; just get me the DS for xmas and ill be happy :op

  8. Running out of ideas to help shore up rapidly declining sales, Ninty?

I’ve spent more time in the last year playing my Dreamcast than my Wii, but then I’ve spent more time playing GalaxIR and Void Defence on my ‘droid than either of them…

    • Kinda, but also not really, they can always drop the price with an RRP of £179.99 it’s still got a couple of price cuts left in it, before it reaches the £99.99 end of life price, a-la PS2.

One could only imagine how many it would still sell if the RRP dropped to £129.99 (therefore generally available for less) and then later on to £99.99

      • when that happens the ps22 if it still around will have a bit of compition

  9. the DS looks nice :) still sticking with my lite until it breaks
