No More Heroes HD Now PS3 Exclusive in North America

No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise, the HD update to Suda51’s seminal if somewhat overlooked title on the Wii, is now a PlayStation 3 exclusive title in North America. The expected Xbox 360 version is officially defunct – at least in the US and Canada.

Apart from the original No More Heroes game in stunning high-def, the PS3 Heroes’ Paradise version also delivers “Rebout Mode,” allowing vanquished foes to be challenged again. There will also be additional boss characters and a “Viewer Mode” which will allow players to pour over “infamous cut scenes in crystal clear HD graphics.”

It’s important to note that this announcement specifically calls out North America with regard to PS3 exclusivity. There is a chance European Xbox 360 owners will be able to get their Travis Touchdown fix over on this side of the pond. Highly unlikely, however, though we’ll fire off the obligatory mail to Konami nonetheless.

  1. I loved the Wii version, can’t wait for this! Looking forward to playing it with a decent “old-fashioned” controller!

  2. But this is still coming to ps3 in Europe right?

  3. Timed exclusive, or have they gone and scrapped the 360 version entirely? If it is still coming out in other territories, then surely timed, right?

    • Seems odd that they’d release it worldwide on ps3 but only outside NA on xbox. would expect its a proper exclusive.

is it because it’ll use Move, because its getting ported from the Wii?

      • Didn’t Atari do something similar with Ghostbusters?

  4. I had no idea what this was about so had a look at some Wii gameplay on youtube. Could be a good Move game, plenty of blood in it too but i’m not sure about that sword-shaking gesture – maybe it wouldn’t be so dodgy if the character didn’t grunt while doing it! ;)

    • Thats what is great about this title! Almost everything in the game is tongue in cheek humor…

  5. Will this version have the uncut cutscenes or the ash-cloud ones that the Wii had? I would highly recommend getting this if you haven’t played the original, it is a fast paced and entertaining game that uses motion controls well without being gimmicky.
