Portal 2 Move Support Confirmed

Keeping their promise that Portal 2 on the PS3 will be the best console version available, Valve has confirmed that the PS3 edition will be fully PlayStation Move compatible. The developer has already confirmed cloud-based game saving, cross-PC gaming support, while the PlayStation 3 version even comes with a free – yes, you read that right, free – Steam code for the PC version of the game.

Valve’s Chet Faliszek explains the love:

We made a mistake back then and gave the Orange Box console versions to an external team. They did a good job, but didn’t quite achieve the same quality level that we have at Valve. Now everything happens in-house, we created a special console department just for that.

So the move to the PlayStation 3 comes late – we’re sorry for that. As a small compensation we have PS3-exclusive cloud saving, a free code for PC and complete PlayStation Move support.

Look at it as a compensation for Left 4 Dead.

  9. Move support? Excellent! I don’t even care that it will come late. Looks like when old Gabe said the PS3 version would be the best he wan’t kidding. So nice to see such a turn around in Valve’s attitude!

    • Maybe that change in Valve’s attitude was because of a certain VP of Sharpening Things…
